Visualizing the School of Art + Design

My solution: simply ask. I surveyed, caroused, cajoled the class to define themselves through their work. Each student used three words to describe their work process, their work environment, and their favorite skills (not bound to their work). I analyzed the data, searching for trends, outliers, and humor. The initial results took shape in multiple sections.

The final data visualizations created a rich landscape of the complexities of the artists and designers in their own words. The proposed form was a 24x36 folded newsprint takeaway that encompassed the complex art + design community.
